Episode #33 Card (Dec. 6, 2019):
Show Opener: The New Day open Smackdown. The three talk about their issues with The Pure and Kofi goes into about how he doesn't know when Gulak will challenge but he'll be ready when he does, but until then, a new #1 Contender for the WWE Championship will be decided and he's ready for whomever comes his way. Match #1: Drew McIntyre vs. Keith Lee RESULT: DREW MCINTYRE WINS Segment: Naomi comes to the ring to officially challenge for the Women's title at Royal Rumble, Sasha interrupts and says that if anyone deserves a title shot it's me and if I have to go through you to get it I will. Natalya comes out and says that she was the champion before Baszler and she wants a proper rematch . Sasha and Natalya start arguing and then Baszler comes out and says she doesn't really care who challenges her for the title and that she'll kick all of your asses, starting with... you and she attacks Naomi and Natalya then goes after Baszler and Sasha goes after Natalya. GM Paige comes out to make a tag match. Match #2: Naomi & Natalya vs. Sasha Banks & Shayna Baszler -Naomi and Baszler fight their way out of the arena and leave Sasha and Natalya 1 on 1 RESULT: NAOMI & NATALYA Segment: Kevin Owens is prepping for his match later tonight when Zayn and Cesaro walk up to him. Zayn wonders why despite losing at Survivor Series and losing last week against the two of them, why he of all people is getting a #1 Contender Match tonight. Owens cuts Zayn off and says that look Sami, I'm sorry that I am doing a great job here and GM Paige appreciates that enough to give me a title shot. I didn't sell out for a title shot. I earned it and I earned by not sitting on my ass complaining to everyone single person in the world. And I'm sorry Cesaro that someone of your level has to stoop so low to join up with scum like Sami. Cesaro steps up to Owens and the two stare each other down. Zayn holds Cesaro back and tells Owens to watch himself. Match #3: Heavy Machinery vs. The OC RESULT: THE OC WINS Segment: Backstage Interview with Roman Reigns. Interviewer asks how Roman how he is preparing for his #1 Contender's match. Roman responds saying that he is preparing the same way he does every match. After the year he has had, he is just extremely happy to be here on Fox representing WWE. And if this victory means he can earn a shot at the WWE Championship, then even better. "See, life's full of challenges and I've learn that you need to take on all challenges no matter how big or small. And Kofi Kingston is a great WWE Champion and a great friend, but don't get it twisted, when I win tonight, Kofi better be ready for the fight of his life." Match #4: Velveteen Dream & Cedric Alexander vs. The Pure (Gulak & Bryan) RESULT: VELVETEEN DREAM & CEDRIC ALEXANDER WINS Segment: Interview with The IIconics about Peyton returning to in ring action and why they interfered with the EoN match last week. Peyton says that EoN have been the only women's tag team on Smackdown for a while and it went to their heads. They don't run this division, we do! We're gonna put them in their place and make Smackdown... before they can say their beloved catch phrase the EoN interrupt and say that if you really wanna put us in our place then fight us next week and we'll see who really runs this division. Main Event: Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens - #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship -Miz is on commentary -McIntyre watches the match from the back -During the match, Cesaro attacks Owens, throwing him into the barricade RESULT: ROMAN REIGNS WINS
